We all have dreams. Emotional Intelligence (EQ) is one of the most important skills we have to develop in order to achieve what we dream in life. These social skills help us structure our thoughts and emotions in an effective manner and can enhance our performance. But to do so, we have to start early. So how can we help our kids express feelings through their dreams and wishes? Take a look at this week’s “1 minute Peppy Talks”.

Exercise; Let your child draw one of his or her wishes. It could be something big for the whole world or something personal.

Ask; What do you wish for?

Discuss;

  • What would you feel if your wish came true?
  • What would you feel if your wish did not come true?
  • What can you do to make your wish come true?

Purpose; To express your feelings through your wishes.

Want to experience more? We all need wishes and dreams. Make sure not to judge unrealistic wishes. Instead, help your child sort out what is fantasy and what could come true. Another good exercise that goes well with dreaming is practicing self-awareness.
