Why do you think I am?

By January 28, 2016Peppy Talks

Nice, Happy, Angry or Different? We all have opinions of what we think of our friends, parents, kids or colleagues. At the same time, we are very concerned over what people might think of us. But we rarely ask.. Perhaps because we are too afraid to know? But its more likely because we haven’t developed the emotionell intelligence needed to do so. Increased EQ helps us to be able to see ourselves through the eyes of others.  This week’s “1 minute Peppy Parenting” will not only help you, but also your child to develop these skills.

Emotional Intelligence PeppyPals

Exercise; Start off by describing yourself from a parent’s or friend’s point of view. Then have your child do the same.

Ask; How would you describe yourself?

Discuss;

  • Do you think Mom/Dad’s picture of you is the same as yours?
  • Is it possible for us to change our parent’s or friend’s picture of us?
  • Is the way we, your Mom/Dad, describe us important?
  • Are we influenced by other’s opinion of us?

Purpose; To practice to see oneself through the eyes of others.
