Peppy Pals and Burger King bring the joy of reading to more families

Peppy Pals and Burger King in a new partnership in Sweden and Denmark

First out in Burger King’s new book offering is Peppy Pals with its books about five animal friends teaching children about emotions, empathy and friendship.

In an attempt to reduce their carbon footprint, Sweden and Denmark will be the first two markets where Burger King will stop using plastic toys in its King Jr Meals and instead replace them with qualitative books from local authors. The books are produced in Latvia, where both the factory and the raw material are certified by the Nordic Swan Ecolabel.

“I’m incredibly proud that we are reducing our climate footprint, while contributing to children’s reading and providing a platform for new Swedish up and coming authors”, Gustaf Wetterwik, Marketing Director at Burger King Scandinavia.

Each Peppy Pals book deals with different relatable stories for children. At the back of each book, there are questions to discuss that has been developed together with psychologist Bodil Wennberg and that relate directly to the story.

“We feel really happy and proud about this collaboration with Burger King. It’s a unique opportunity to share Peppy Pals’ vision of friendship and kindness with so many more children! We believe and hope that the content of our books will lead to deeper discussions between parents and children”, says Paulina Olsson, CEO and Co-founder of Peppy Pals.
